Why AI answers omit local businesses
An AI answer is not a census of the local market.
Answer engines compress. They return a few names, not a complete list of firms that could serve the query. A business can operate, be licensed, and still be absent from the captured answer.
Omission is common when the prompt is generic (“best … near me”), when the model has no citable source for the verified website, or when national brands already occupy the short list. Absence is not proof the business does not exist. It is also not a ranking.
GetMojoPR records the question, the capture, and whether the verified site was cited. Mentions and citations are counted separately. Failed or missing captures are disclosed. We do not invent a position from ordinary prose.
This note does not claim a business appeared, ranked, or won work. It does not promise inclusion in future answers.
